Derek Pike
Derek Pike is a proud co-owner of Trusted Truck Transport (TTT), a leading truck transportation service provider in the United States. With a passion for the trucking industry and a commitment to exceptional customer service, Derek expects to make TTT a trusted name in the truck transportation industry.
Born and raised by a family of entrepreneurs and industry leaders, Derek developed a deep passion for developing and scaling businesses. Through his many business ventures, Derek has become an expert in the trucking industry. After graduating from high school, Derek immediately enlisted in the United States Army, where he was primarily responsible for managing his battalion’s fleet and ensuring all vehicles were mission ready. After 5 years of active-duty service, Derek returned to his hometown of Kansas City, where he began pursuing business ventures in the transportation industry. He received his degree from the University of Missouri- Kansas City with focused studies in the areas of business and finance.
In 2022, Derek worked at a Drive-away company where he was employed as a Driver manager. He learned the importance of interpersonal relationships with both drivers and customers and the need for transparency in the drive-away industry. Derek was quickly recognized for enforcing high standards and utmost transparency. His performance in this role quickly and consistently placed him among the top earners in the company.
Derek’s dedication to customer satisfaction is evident in every aspect of his performance. He believes in going above and beyond to exceed client expectations, ensuring that every move is safe and meticulously managed. This commitment to excellence has earned Derek a loyal customer and driver base.

Jim Marmon
In the early summer of 1991 our founder, Jim Marmon, found himself sitting in a 1970’s single-wide trailer behind a farmhouse in Bonner Springs, KS for his first day in what would become his lifetime passion and career. He was only 19 then and the 2” green shag carpet and three-legged cocker spaniel sitting next to him with a flea infestation issue was intriguing to say the least. But the pay was good for a college student, $5.00/hour, and he needed gas money so he came back the next day. That commitment led to a great adventure to say the least. He worked for that company, Jayhawk Truck Transporters, one of the original independent drive-away companies for nearly four years and then shortly after graduating from college in 1993, began his entrepreneurial journey and opened his first drive-away company with a business partner in 1995 on borrowed money from several credit card companies with average interest rates of 26%. It might sound crazy but when you have a dream, you do whatever it takes to fulfill it. After growing that enterprise by 10X in just under 12 years, Jim decided it was time to run his own company. So, in 2006, the business partners went their separate ways and Jim opened his 2nd, this time wholly owned, drive-away company and rapidly grew that to over 400 Independent Contract drivers with one of the best reputations in the industry. He then sold his interest in 2015 and took an early retirement break.
Fast forward 9 years, we are starting this new venture with lots of experienced and excited young-minded people full of vitality and vigor and we expect to once again shake up the industry and provide a better experience for both our customers and our drivers. The fire is back and drive-away is still a fast growing in-demand business that has room for great competition and improvement. Jake Laing
Jake Laing is a proud co-owner of Trusted Truck Transport (TTT), a leading truck transportation service provider in the United States. With a passion for sales excellence and an honest commitment to his clients, Jake expects to make TTT a trusted name in the truck transportation industry.
Born and raised in Kansas with a tight-knit business family, Jake has always had the desire to work for himself and provide value to others. Following in his parent’s footsteps to be kind and hard-working, success through relational integrity has always been his goal. Jake is grateful that his work journey has led him to the trucking industry.
Jake enjoys golf, K-State University sports, the Kansas City Chiefs and spending time with loved ones. If you know Jake, he is a genuine friend, and his word is his honor.
He agrees that working in the drive-away industry is such a unique and rewarding experience. Everything moves very quickly, and many parts need to come together to provide a smooth process for the customer. Jake enjoys the rush, fluidity and constant communication; but most of all, he enjoys all the people. Everyday is a different day in this business and no interaction with drivers or truck sellers/buyers is the same. There is never a dull moment in drive-away. Jake plans to create a great service backed with the utmost integrity that can add value to the industry and maintain a standard of doing right by all the hard working people he encounters.
